Update to Post About Seeking Mental Help

A lot of people have messaged me privately about my post about Stop Judging People For Seeing a Therapist. It’s also one of my most viewed posts, so I thought I would share this website I heard a commercial for yesterday: makeitok.org

I’m not saying that everyone who talks to a therapist has a mental illness. Honestly, I think everyone should have at least annual check-ups for their mental health just like we do with our physical health.

I also think it’s especially important for couples to have an annual ‘marriage check-up’ with a third party.

Here’s an email I received from a good friend that is doing amazing things with his life. I never would have guessed that he talks to a counselor regularly:

I particularly like your post on the social stigma tied to mental therapy. I’ve found outside counseling tremendously helpful for my mental health, which is just as important as my physical health.

Just to reiterate this post again, it’s ok if you don’t always know how to navigate our crazy busy world on your own! Don’t be ashamed to seek help from a professional.
